It’s the season of new political candidates and the latest candidate to throw his name in the ring is Luca Arrigo. He’s related as great-grandson to Edgar Arrigo, who he was the first speaker of Malta’s legislative assembly in 1921. He’s not directly related to Robert Arrigo, a Nationalist Party stalwart who died recently.
He published his political manifesto online on his social media pages, and press outlets have also covered his announcement. He’s still in his twenties, which makes him too young and inexperienced for politics, and his decision to contest as an independent candidate doesn’t make any sense. for the reasons listed here.
Surely, he would be more effective joining PN, considering he’s probably not going to get elected as an independent candidate.
