With this announcement, the government may appear that it is actually helping the independent press, when in fact half of the print newspapers are purely pro-government Labour propaganda rags and these include, It-Tor?a, Kul?add, L-Orrizont and Illum. The others are The Times of Malta, the Malta Independent, MaltaToday and Il-Mument. Labour dominates television with ONE and the public broadcaster which is a mouthpiece to the government and the Labour Party. In addition, the government spends a lot of public money on advertising on fake media websites which are actually pro-Labour propaganda units such as Strada Rjali and talk.mt
