As of now, Emmanuel Macron is the only major Western European leader who has not made a commitment to sending main battle tanks to Ukraine. Pedro Sanchez of Spain tops the list with 50 Leopard tanks.
Emmanuel Macron is still hedging his bets on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He needs to remain as friendly as possible to the authoritarian regimes in the East, especially to China which buys many of France’s overpriced handbags: one of its main national exports.
