Today, the Times of Malta published this article in memory of Sylvia King, a fantastic woman who was brutally murdered by a deranged man who was obsessed with her. Sylvia King was a champion bowler and a philanthropist but for people like me who grew up in Marsascala in the 1990s and early 2000s, we know of Sylvia King as the previous owner of one of our favourite hang-outs in town, Lemon n’ Lime. The place is still there decorated similarly to the way she had left it. The bar is the source of beautiful memories for my generation and still serves as a reuniting location between us old friends whenever we want to go back in time. The view of the bar is bestowed with the small fishing harbour so we often used to just buy drinks and cross the road to sit by the sea smoking and drinking with barely anyone passing by. Today, the area is more active and popular, but it’s still occasionally quiet on the odd Winter days.
