Yesterday, MaltaToday has published an editorial appealing to Prime Minister Robert Abela to “shock the system” out of its corruption and malaise.
Delusional, but it also shows an ingratiating form of support for a Prime Minister who has consistently shown bad faith towards the press and his critics.
The Prime Minister is too compromised, and too intertwined with Malta’s political-criminal system and he is not fighting it, but rather fighting to preserve it because his survival depends on it.
Why do you think that the swathe of recent resignations that took place happened due to investigative reporting on a simple WordPress website, and not with an active effort by the government itself? And why do you think none of the Labour Party MPs has the bare minimum of courage to say in public that what Rosianne Cutajar did was wrong? It is incredible how a major newspaper will overlook these facts and once again try to diminish the importance of publishing the chats between Rosianne Cutajar and Yorgen Fenech. MaltaToday is doing a great service to the government by normalising its corrupt actions and evil intentions.
