Quite rich coming from a gitan, but leaving your handbag on the table is bad manners, however, and more importantly, showing off your Bulgari bags on government-funded trips is crass, to say the least. Why are they all the same and why are they so stupid?
This is Catherine Tabone. I remember her as Jason Micallef’s assistant at the Valletta Culture Agency, but she had a big title as “director of culture.” In my eight years as chairman of a public entity that specialised in a particular culture industry, I never actually figured out what she did other than hanging out with Jason Micallef, Labour politicians and artists.
Now, Jason Micallef has moved on to a new position as head gardener in Ta’ Qali, and Catherine Tabone has replaced him as Valletta’s Culture Agency or whatever it is. Their latest event was literally a fake garden in the centre of the city.
I would like to open a bottle of wine, call my friends and die of laughter, but I have work to do.
PS: Also, here’s a word of advice to government directors who go on trips abroad. Don’t take photos by yourselves because you look like losers when you do. Take a photo with your delegation (not having dinner), and that’s just enough. If you take other photos, you have to do so in your official capacity and only when you meet other directors or officials equivalent to your role (not taking photos for the sake of it). You are supposedly representing your government, not yourselves. And don’t go shopping whilst you are on public trips, as well. Why are you so desperate? I know that most of you would have never had the opportunity to buy a Bulgari bag hadn’t Labour given you an iced bun, but damn, be a little self-aware, at least and don’t be so infantile.
