The Justice Minister, Jonathan Attard has just declared in Parliament that if the “Opposition wants to arrest the Prime Minister, they have to go through us, first”.
This follows a recent accusation by Robert Abela that the Nationalist Party is engaging in “political terrorism”.
I hope that by now, given that the Labour Party is dropping all its pretences of being liberal and democratic, it is blatantly and explicitly obvious that Malta has become an illiberal democracy with an authoritarian government and no rule of law.
We live under a Mafia State run by a criminal organization. There is no more pretending from now on by the Labour Party as the stakes get higher.
