Prime Minister Robert Abela is beginning to look really stressed as he tries to conjure up some lies to excuse himself for putting pressure on Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa not to arrest Joseph Muscat. However, Robert Abela really went overboard with his deal with Joseph Muscat as he didn’t just protect Muscat and his men and other Labour affiliated-politicians. Robert used his newfound position in government to directly cover up and protect alleged blue-collar criminals with whom he had shady dealings in the past. This is a short list of the hard criminals Robert Abela has been protecting so far.
Christian Borg
So far, the most popular criminal associated with Robert Abela has been Christian Borg. Christian Borg was Robert Abela’s client and made his wealth by selling cocaine and ripping off other drug dealers. Subsequently, he washed his money into a car-leasing business and was eventually arrested for kidnapping one of his clients.
Robert Abela conducted an insider-trading-deal with Christian Borg at the Planning Authority whereby Christian Borg bought a parcel of land in ?abbar knowing in advance that Robert Abela, who was then lawyer to the Planning Authority would facilitate a development parcel for the land parcel. With a development permit obtained for the land parcel literally weeks after the purchase, Christian Borg and Robert Abela went on to sell the piece of land netting a registered profit to Robert Abela of around ย50,000.
Upon becoming Prime Minister, Christian Borg was arrested on kidnapping charges and Robert Abela appointed Labour Party employee Joseph Camenzuli as director of Christian Borg’s companies to according to his words “take care” of his friend. Robert Abela’s brother-in-law is also a lawyer to Christian Borg.
Kurt Buhagiar
Kurt Buhagiar is one of the contractors involved in the construction site in Kordin that killed Jeanpaul Sofia. The construction site is owned by the LANDS department where Kurt Buhagiar is an official. Kurt Buhagiar was arrested in Sicily in 2009 for human trafficking, however, was later released. Kurt Buhagiar knew Robert Abela because he happened to have rented one of his speedboats shortly before he was arrested in Sicily. He was employed at the LANDS authority also by another of Robert Abela’s friends, and head of the LANDS authority, Robert Vella who is a freemason. Robert Abela is refusing to open a public inquiry on the death of Jeanpaul Sofia to cover-up for Robert Vella and Kurt Buhagiar.
Charlotte Ciantar was meant to be arraigned for money laundering along with her partner Martin Farrugia over a multi-million Euro tax evasion scheme. Charlotte is Aaron Ciantar’s sister and Aaron is a close friend to Robert who go way back. The person responsible for prosecuting Charlotte and her partner is the pro-Labour police inspector, Sandro Camilleri. It is yet, unclear whether Robert Abela has any direct connection to the case, but Robert Abela’s friendship with Aaron Ciiantar was mostly about speedboats.
Carmelo Abela
Not really a blue-collar criminal, but Carmelo Abela is being accused of being part of one of Malta’s most dramatic bank robberies in its history.ย Police sources also confirm he was under criminal investigation.
