Robert Abela’s inaugural stone at the Gozo Aquatic and Sports Centre

Two years ago, Robert Abela inaugurated what was supposed to be the first stone of the newly announced Gozo Aquatic and Sports Centre that was meant to be ready for this year’s Games of the Small States of Europe held in Malta. Two years on, the centre is unfinished and more than €7 million over budget. The inaugural stone is still standing by itself.

The Games of the Small States of Europe will commence next week.
