Prigozhin is not the worse alternative to Putin – let’s take him very seriously

The official Kremlin propaganda feed coming from the Westerners who grift for the Kremlin and the pro-Kremlin military accounts are propagating the narrative that Prigozhin is a worse alternative to Putin and that after he is successful in his coup he will try to fight even harder in Ukraine.

This is false if we are to take Prigozhin’s statements very seriously. Prigozhin has crticised the raison d’etre of the Russian invasion of Ukraine by claiming that Ukrainians never bombed Donbass civilians. Prigozhins has also complained consistently of the excessive loss of life on the Russian front lines.

If we are to take Prigozhin’s statements seriously with the measure of Russian realpolitik (don’t criticise the Tsar), Prigozhin is clearly positioning himself against the war in Ukraine.

These are just factual observations and I am not supporting Prigozhin. Prigozhin is a war criminal of a terrorist organization which brutalised Ukrainian civilians and killed unarmed men with sledgehammers. The Wagner Group also committed war crimes in Africa.

The Wagner Group is currently two hours away from Moscow and has far met with minimal resistance from the Russian Army.

  1. You forget Prigozhin spent much time acting in front of cameras? which seemed forced and playacting.
And do not dismiss the fact that much information of this war is out-of-reach, banned and clownish.
    Another colour revolution.

The problem is that you are taking him seriously. As someone who lives in a corrupt country, as corrupt as Russia, I don’t take anything these people say seriously. There’s always some riddle, some some kind of mental game. Admit that all he’s done is weird and contradictory. His narrative has changed. People who say he’s worse than Putin are not pro-Kremlin. That’s unfair. He’s helped the Russian government wreck havoc in more than 30 countries. It’s that perhaps you need to live in a country where nobody trusts what powerful people say, from experience. It’s never the truth. Saying he had some kind of revelatory moment, is like saying the Mexican cartel can have a revelatory moment. There’s always more to it than you actually think.
