So, we are not only humiliated by our own government with the Minister of Tourism sporting a foreign football team’s shirt at a Maltese game, funding a foreign football club with public funds, and also funding foreign actors to promote Malta, our civil service is now going to be trained, among of all places in Desert Prison.
Yet, this is expected because this is the behaviour you would expect of someone who comes out of his room from his mother’s house and becomes a Member of Parliament. Mum, I went to Dubai and we signed a deal.

I’m sorry, let me explain some things to young diplomats and students studying international relations. All of the solicitations of offers and “partnerships” you are offered by any foreign state, especially if it is an authoritarian state, are solicitations for you to be used as a prop for their soft power. If you are on the receiving end of such solicitations instead of organising them yourself, you are doing your job incorrectly and losing your balance of power.
