Max Blumenthal was invited to the United Nations Security Council by Russia

This may not be news to some who are very familiar with the United National Security Council, but until today I had no idea how it worked.

So, apparently, Max Blumenthal of the Grayzone was invited to speak at the United Nations Security Council by Russia given that members of the Council can appoint their rapporteurs to provide briefings. Call me naive, but I thought Max Blumenthal was trying to make an effort to hide his official connections with Russia after he secured funding for his media organisation when he made his trip to Moscow in 2015.

Russia would invite Max Blumenthal to speak at the United Nations Security Council only because it would approve of the content he publishes on the Grayzone.
