The Russian-sponsored propagandists Max Blumenthal and Aaron Maté have been the latest Russian trolls to defend Russell Brand. They claim that Russell Brand is getting all the bad press because he is against the “Ukraine proxy war”. They have also been demonetised by Youtube as a result. Max Blumenthal’s show, called The Grayzone, is funded by the Kremlin, and Blumenthal himself was also invited by the Russian government to speak at the United Nations Security Council.
For those who are unfamiliar with Aaron Maté, he is the son of Gabor Maté, the famous Canadian author, physician, and psychologist who writes frequently on drugs and addiction. Gabor’s son is a propagandist for Russia and Syria having also defended Bashar Al-Assad, described the White Helmets as terrorists, and spread conspiracy theories about Assad’s chemical weapons attacks on Ghouta that killed 1,400 people.
