Some genius quotes by Robert Abela at the Mediterranean Summit

Finally, Prime Minister Robert Abela could host some foreign leaders at Castile – not because they wanted to meet him but to attend the Mediterranean Summit which was also used as an external event to the EU Spanish Presidency to discuss the ongoing immigration crisis.

I have always been told by foreign diplomats how our Prime Minister is perceived as a total cabbage and it is better to speak to his men or to the Minister for Foreign Affairs to simply have coherent and meaningful discussions. These are just a couple of quotes by Robert Abela to European leaders at today’s summit as he greeted them. These quotes have been taken verbatim.

To Portugal’s Prime Minister António Costa

“I had to run down the stairs to make it in time for you.”

To Emmanuel Macron

“They go in on the beaches, it’s that bad. It’s not one boat everyday, it’s a number of boats every day.”

  1. Was he talking abkut when he takes his cabin cruiser out for a ride or about the drug dealers with their powerboats?

    Injoranza tboss!?!

  2. I had to switch off listening to the leaders’ sermon – the ‘s’ sound in particular was annoying, distracting and frankly worrying that we still have such poor English speakers in official roles. And what was that show of hosting the EU president for a bilateral meeting as tvm referred to it on a Gozo channel ferry? And if the lady wants to enjoy the view, take her upper deck will you? And the school?! Is that all we had to offer? Pathetic! I’m sure the Gozitans will be forgiving in the next poll now that their lovely island has been showcased (hah!) and enjoyed by the upper echelon of the EU.

    Labour… when’s the next cock-up?

  3. Hahahahaha, it’s just like when Del Boy tries to impress those around him by throwing in the few unrelated French expressions that he knows.

  5. “….it is better to speak to his men or to the Minister for Foreign Affairs” – Especially if you need to pass a driving test. 😉
