Matthew Chetcuti’s parents are also employed by the government

Many of the young lackeys supporting Robert Abela come from Labour families, and if the children are getting government jobs, why wouldn’t the parents be entitled to an iced bun? Of course, they would. There are whole families whose only source of income is government jobs that have been given to them in exchange for political support and canvassing, such as the parents of Matthew Chetucti and Natalia Muscat.

During the last general election, Matthew Chetcuti’s parents, Joe and Mariella canvassed for Aaron Farrugia who is now Minister for Transport. Today, Joe Chetcuti is canvassing for Julia Farrugia Portelli. Matthew Chetcuti could leverage his parents’ Labour Party activism to help them get good jobs with various ministries and government entities. Joe Chetcuti worked as a driver for Wasteserv’s chairman, Frank Bezzina (today Acting President). Previously, Joe Chetcuti worked at Wasteserve as a welder, but getting promoted to the chairman’s driver was an easy route for him. Frank Bezzina, a trusted Labour acolyte, is a friend of the Chetcuti family. Matthew’s mother, Mariella works at Ambjent Malta.
