Meet Neil Baldacchino of Darttek: a cocaine-snorting Robert Abela loyalist and the son of MITA director Saviour Baldacchino. Neil Baldacchino’s company has been fully propped up by the government thanks to Robert Abela’s support and his father’s backhand. Tony Sultana who was the previous executive chairman of MITA is now Robert Abela’s Principal Permanent Secretary. Neil Baldacchino’s company provides software systems to the government including the system for its customer care (the units for handing out corrupt favors).
So, apart from sponsoring Neil Baldacchino’s cocaine habit from the public purse, we also have to contend with a government that is running its entities with his systems and software, despite his software and service to the government being totally unreliable in the case of a different administration takes over given his political links.
