Alexei Navalny missing from prison

Alexei Navalny, Russia’s main opposition figure and Vladimir Putin critic is missing from his prison and may be presumed dead.

The terrorist militant Igor Girkin is another high-profile opposition figure who is in jail.

Vladimir Putin is gearing up for elections next year, which are, of course, intended to solidify his power.
