Prosecutor Karl Muscat was ready to arraign Christian Borg to court over money-laundering charges

The evidence held by the authorities over Christian Borg’s money laundering activities is not recent. The deceased prosecutor Karl Muscat who was prosecuting Christian Borg in court, was of the strong opinion that the authorities had enough evidence to arraign Christian Borg to court and freeze all of his assets.

Karl Muscat was found dead in his home in August last year. Since then Christian Borg could move his assets around as he pleases, apart from obtaining government contracts. As the government rushes in a law that is intended to help money launderers by removing the prosecutors’ ability to freeze all the suspect’s assets, Christian Borg may be arraigned in court while still having full access to most of his assets.
