Nikki Haley may be the West’s best candidate for the US Presidency

Between a Democratic Party that is growing fatigued and increasingly reluctant to support Ukraine in winning the war, and the far-right Republican nominees Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy, who may further disrupt the world by empowering Russia, Nikki Haley stands as the best hope for the West. A recent poll shows her making progress in the state of New Hampshire. New Hampshire is often considered a key battleground for Presidential nominees at the beginning of the presidential race, probably for its independent nature.

A victory for Nikki Haley for the Republican presidential nomination would bring a great sigh of relief. The Republican Party would turn back to its Reaganite philosophy and reverse its ever-increasing tolerance and friendships with foreign dictators. The catastrophic prospect of having the US abandon its commitment to uphold the international rules-based order and give Russia and China further hegemonic reach would be avoided. Ukraine would have the possibility to be supplied with the weapons it needs to win the war and China becomes more restrained by knowing that the sitting President of the US will not hesitate to go to war against it if it invades Taiwan. The world would be a better place as rogues and dictators would have something to fear before deciding to start a war.

Ironically, Nikki Haley may be the Clinton Presidency that should have been, undoing years of damage by Donald Trump who empowered dictators and the far-right across the world.
