The turncoat Frank Tabone is now defending drug dealers

Once upon a time, Police Inspector Frank Tabone was one of the best money laundering investigators in the Police Force. Once, he even arrested Arthur Azzopardi, interrogated him, and literally made him cry in fear. Arthur Azzopardi used to leak information on internal matters of the Nationalist Party when Adrian Delia was at its helm and was also investigated for money laundering.

Arthur Azzopardi solved his fear of Frank Tabone very easily. He offered him a job and now Frank Tabone, the same police inspector who investigated Arthur Azzopardi and made him cry during an interrogation, is working for him. As of lately, Frank Tabone has been defending drug dealers.

Frank Tabone is one of the many cases of defections by police officers and lawyers at the Office of the Attorney General to the world of crime. These turncoats have not only betrayed the State but have also humiliated and betrayed their colleagues. A new government that is serious in its fight against organised crime will have to pass laws to prevent this blatant abuse whereby members of the Police and employees at the Office of the Attorney General can sell themselves to the other side.

The State should reserve the right to fine someone doing such a move up to ย€10 million which would be the price one would have to pay the State for using its confidential and internal secrets to defend the world of crime. A fine of ย€1 million would not cut it, because it would still make a defection possible considering how much Charles Mercieca has been paid by Yorgen Fenech.
