The battles and accusations of the President of Argentina against journalists are often taken seriously and widely reported. They are not only reported because Milei himself has become one of the most popular politicians in the world but also because there is high public interest in the content that angers leaders and powerful individuals. They are also reported because such attacks can be potentially harmful to free speech and democracy itself, and mostly they are harmful because it is most often the journalist that’s right. Donald Trump’s battles with journalists used to be widely reported as well.
Here in Malta, so far, only Lovin Malta picked up Robert Abela’s attacks, on which he double-down a couple of days later.
