Franco Debono confirms that he wants to restrict free speech by increasing libel damages

One thing leads to another and soon people start telling you really who they are and what they want. In response to my article published earlier today, Franco Debono confirmed his position that free speech laws in Malta are too permissive and that libel damages need to increase. He brings up the example of Johnny Depp’s case against Amber Heard  (among all cases) to tell us that libel damages should be higher.

So, basically, this narcissist wants to go to politics to clamp down on free speech laws so that he doesn’t get offended if you insult him. It seems like he hasn’t changed very much ever since Daphne Caruana Galizia wrote this article about him.

    This case revolved re accusations of domestic violence by Depp’s ex-wife. What FD conveniently fails to mention is that Depp lost the libel case in the U.K 2 years ago. In the U.S high profile lawyers are prone to use what are known as darvo tactics to attack the victim and make the perpetrator seem the real victim, to impress and influence the jury.
    The Nazzs are their current moribund state because they have always been dominated and led by Lawyers. They have crashed and suffered their most humiliating defeats when led and influenced by Lawyers. FD was not one of those Nazz lawyers who formed part of Gonz’s inner circle but he certainly played crucial part in bringing down the Nazz Government.
