Speaking of Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera, last Friday Franco Debono had an argument with her in her court. Franco started shouting at her and acted with an air of impatience, arriving late for a court sitting that he himself had already missed in a previous session. It was a crass display of entitlement on Franco Debono’s part, which the judge tolerated without fining him for contempt of court.
It still amazes me today, that despite our level of education and the economic development we have been through, we still treat criminal lawyers with an excess amount of privilege and veneration, when in fact, they are simply just professional liars whose job is to defend the murderous and thieving scum of society.
