The US is to build a temporary seaport off the coast of Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid

As part of his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden announced today that the US will build a temporary seaport off the coast of Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid. This measure is being done unilaterally and separate from the Israeli government which is starving Gazans by blocking humanitarian aid at the borders. President Biden also said that the temporary port will be developed into a permanent commercial harbour.

This measure, which is also being supported by Democratic Senator, Bernie Sanders, will bring the presence of US soldiers in Palestine and establish the US as a key player in Palestine. Having the US as a key player in Palestine would serve to replace some of the domineering power of the IDF over Gaza, a power which they have used indiscriminately against innocent civilians. This move also goes against the express wishes of Benjamin Netanyahu and his government who intend to prevent the creation of a Palestinian state.
