Undoubtedly, the biggest state collaborator with Yorgen Feneh was Keith Schembri, the Chief of staff of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who was both close friends with Joseph Muscat and Yorgen Fenech. Keith Schembri exchange up to 200 calls with Yorgen Fenech in the year when Yorgen Fenech was arrested. That’s at least one call every two days.
Today we have more evidence of Keith Schembri’s collusion with Yorgen Fenech. Mr Ranger has just published a message by Yorgen Fenech that includes an admission that Keith Schembri was actually helping him out.
Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri used to attend briefings on the murder investigation all the while keeping regular communication with Yorgen Fenech. Joseph Muscat always excused himself about this collusion by claiming that he and Keith Schembri were acting as double agents. In a court of law, Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri would have to prove that they acted in good faith and that they were double agents, however Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa has until today, refused to prosecute anyone who colluded with Yorgen Fenech.
