Can we stop for a moment and refrain from swindling foreign workers out of their money?

Apart of paying them dirt-low wages, and extracting from them most of their money back through rent and food expenses, we are now going to force foreign workers pay €500 to sit for a series of lessons provided to them by an AI robot. It’s all acceptable and tech-savvy as long as we include “AI” and suddenly we are best in Europe, once again, in exploiting third-country nationals.

One of the Ministers announcing this grift, has just recently told the press that he is a “socialist”. Byron Camilleri should know better, but his compassion and empathy has probably been eroded after years of serving criminals in their evil deeds.

  1. So which friend of a friend makes bank over that artificial “intelligence” teacher duo? Can probably charge quite a nice sum from a government that so desperately tries to be modern and progressive. No idea how AI is a suitable use case here when you could have just actually intelligent humans to pre-record video lectures and be available for Q&A sessions, but here we are…

  2. This is polite form of racism and clear exploitation of the vulnerable. So now TCNs who cannot pay the equivalent of a month’s wage, or who “fail” the assessment are bound to sleep on public benches, beg borrow or steal.
