So far my research is not extensive, but Reverend Carmelo Busuttil who is fronting a development of a new, large apartment block in Imqabba, has received an inheritance of several properties from his parents and went on to invest in further properties and business along the years. Notably, there’s a purchase of 163,365 of at least eight garages in ?abbar by court auction in 2019, and a 357,500 purchase of a share in six properties in ?urrieq and one in Qrendi from his own architect Mannie Galea in 2023.
Reverend Carmelo Busuttil was a priest at the parish of ?urrieq for a number of years, and now is delegated to the parish of Vittoriosa (Birgu). He also worked at the Curia’s property division before he was fired by Archbishop Charles Scicluna.
