Does Robert Abela do any governance at all?

Every day, Robert Abela is out campaigning. He attends daily cabinet meetings, parliamentary sessions and parliamentary group meetings, meetings of the Labour Party Executive Meeting, and during most nights he is seen out dining with his wife. He takes long holidays during the Summer and he is often doing propaganda, press conferences and whatnot.

Does Robert Abela do any actual governance, at all? His history of governing is recorded with a schedule that includes Party purges with Saddam Hussein antics, meetings with his father, George, covering up for Joseph Muscat and his associates, and asking the Minister of Finance Clyde Caruana to take on more debt to finance the government’s lavish expenditure. What’s Robert Abela’s legacy and political drive, really?

In reality, politicians would generally have had a dream, a passion or a cause that they would want to carry out in public life. They would even have a vision. What’s Robert Abela’s drive? Having never been a Party or political activist himself, as a politician, Robert Abela is empty as a jar that hosts fake flowers. And what will his legacy be? What are the laws that carry his hallmark and his signature? So far, Robert Abela’s legacy has been of cover-up, the protection and conservation of organised crime (he even opposed a law in Parliament proposed by the Nationalist Party that would have fought against organised crime), and increasing the public debt to its highest levels at its fastest rate in history.

There’s only one thing that Robert Abela had a passion for in his personal life that he eventually carried on to public life: it’s money laundering and hence why he came up with an anti-money laundering law that favours money-launderers.
