There can’t be any logical conclusion to the case of Jomic Calleja Maatouk and his deceased wife Marzia Calleja other than the effective resignation of Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa.
Angelo Gafa walks around the the Police Depot in Floriana as if he owns the place, shouts and screams and bangs on the table at his subordinates, but when it comes to scrutinising him, he enjoys full impunity and freedom to do as he likes as long as he fulfills the orders of Prime Minister Robert Abela to cover up for political and associated criminals.
Now, Angelo Gafa has to own his incompetence, but this is the least that should happen. Angelo Gafa should be subject to a public inquiry to investigate him over his constant and consistent failures to bring to justice dangerous criminals like Christian Borg and corrupt politicians like Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri. In any criminal investigation, a consistent and constant series of mistakes and mishaps, is never considered an innocent low-probability coincidental scenario: it is considered as a fully intended and willing criminal intent to commit a crime or a series of crimes.
