Arnold Cassola, the independent candidate who has come third by the count of the first preference votes has told a journalist in an interview that he is not being allowed live data shared by the Labour Party and PN by the Electoral Commission.
It is estimated that Arnold Cassola has received around 10,000 first-preference votes, but the number could be higher.

I’m sorry the big news here is Labour’s implosion. The independent candidates should have sacrificed their own ambitions and encouraged people to vote for the second largest party knowing full well that both parties are nowadays under scrutiny. Do you have the country at heart?!
Labour is imploding. The electorate has shown two fingers to cheques, handouts, favours. That was the last pathetic means to lure voters. That has gone too.

What a pathetic comment! Both LP and PN are imploding as both are shedding more votes in successive elections. A trend proven right again and again. The only representatives who made successful gains are the independent candidates, namely Cassola. For once put Malta first and ditch the blind faith in your political cult of PN or LP

…and the Gozitans are also imploding as it is clear the PN have won Gozo.
Malta is a nut case, tribal, and will almost always be a third world country.
Apart from the celebrations etc. which are strong indications of a third world country (where in Europe do you see this kind of partisan celebration?), The PN is celebrating an election loss, while the PL is celebrating a huge drop in votes.
Mind you, the PN also celebrated in 2008, when they almost lost all votes from the 2004 election.
This is not a general election, and subject to protest votes. Its results do not mean so much.
Hugely irresponsible behaviour by the electoral commission.
