In the last quarter of 2021, I started this website under the publishing house of Dar Camilleri which is also publishing books. As of now, these operations have remained unregistered and ephemeral in the world of official records.
We have recently exceeded last year’s unique viewers with more than 526,000 unique readers this year and more than 3.6 million hits. These numbers have been verified by Google Analytics and there are no bots or double-counting.
All of Dar Camilleri’s operations have been personally funded by myself, Mark Camilleri, namely in book sales and financial activities. As of this year, we have grown our advertising revenue to decent levels for the first time and this revenue is stabilising into a constant form of cash-flow.
All of Malta’s local media and press bar some exceptions like The Shift, and myself and this website are funded by public funds. Without much government help, we are successfully creating a self-sustainable business. We have received one advert from a state entity this year and we yearly apply for the Malta Book Fund as do all other local publishers. We have also a part-time employee and we pay various contractors and service-providers. We have created a book-stock and we intend to for it to keep growing exponentially. Eventually, we will also have our premises.
We feel we have the momentum to take our operations to the next level.
Therefore, we are proudly announcing that we plan to raise-funds for the registration of our company and the launch of our new product, with our upcoming book by the end of the year. Following our new book, which will serve us to fund a new media house, there will also be a regular and physical publication.
This website will eventually migrate and merge with the new media house.
Dar Camilleri will remain the mother company of all our products.
