Roger Agius claims the Office of the Prime Minister told him to drop Jason Azzopardi as his lawyer

Roger Agius is a whistleblower who is currently being charged over the social-benefits fraud case. His lawyer is the indefatigable Jason Azzopardi.

Today, in an interview with Andrew Azzopardi of Newsbook, Roger Agius said that the OPM told him to drop Jason Azzopardi as his lawyer in exchange for a better outcome to the case. Roger Agius has made several public declaration on the case which I could also verify independently that the Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon and his political handler Mark Calleja (Il-Gulija) were the deeply involved in the scheme, yet have not been charged.

He is being charged along with Grixti and publicly outed several names close to the Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon who are involved in the social-benefits racket. Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa stated that he is waiting the Magistrate’s order to procure statements from the whistleblower, however Roger Agius says that Angelo Gafa already has this authority. Roger Agius is being represented by Jason Azzopardi. […]
