As Robert Abela replaces his top-brass, Joseph Muscat prepares for more Court charges, and Chris Fearne stays in Malta, this summer will be a time when all factions and groups within the Labour Party will seek to regroup, consolidate their power and influence, and plan their next moves forward.
At this stage, Robert Abela is the one who is getting increasingly weakened, while the other major groups, namely Joseph Muscat’s faction and now Chris Fearne’s group are consolidating and increasing their reach. The situation would have been very simple to solve if treated logically, given that the divisive element in this equation is Joseph Muscat. Had the Justice system been functional, the Labour Party wouldn’t have had this problem because Joseph Muscat would have been in prison.
This is basically a waiting game until Robert Abela loses and we can move forward with having a normal state and country. Had Labour MPs a little bit of courage, we would be able move along rather quicker.
