At least 6 pro-Russian candidates of the far-right Rassemblement National that were elected on the first round have lost their seat ion the second round. These are, Pierre Gentillet, Andréa Kotarac, Rémy Berthonneau, Marie-Caroline Le Pen, Virginie Joron and Jacques Myard.
Marie-Caroline Le Pen is Marine Le Pen’s sister and she met Konstantin Malofeev in Moscow who played a key role in Russia’s annexation of Crimea. Virginie Joron was an observer to the Russian Constitutional Referendum of 2020. Jacques Myard is a committee member of the pro-Russian think-tank called Centre Francais de Recherche Sur Le Renseignement (CF2R).
