Ursula Von Der Leyen has been reconfirmed as EU Commissioner by the European Parliament with 401 votes in favour. 284 voted against and 15 abstained.
The vote is a strong confirmation for continuity of the European Union on its fundamental policies including its position on Ukraine and Russia. Appointing Kaja Kallas as the EU’s High Representative would consolidate this position even further.
Bizarrely, Alex Agius Saliba stood up and clapped at Ursula Von Der Leyen’s re-election result. I am still trying to find the image.
