More disinformation campaigns by Joseph Muscat

It is definitely not my pleasure to defend Alex Sciberras, with whom I broke relations years ago (he used to be my lawyer). Those who know me personally, are also aware that he and I are not on good terms for personal reasons. However, I am also a journalist and I have a job to do.

Someone from the Labour Party fed false information to The Shift News and The Shift News published it without verifying it. The rumor that was shared was that Alex Sciberras is contesting the Presidency of the Labour Party’s Executive Committee on behalf of Joseph Muscat’s faction.

This is a lie and a smear and The Shift News could have easily verified the information by simply checking some basic facts. Alex Sciberras is currently the lawyer of Chris Fearne, so how does it make sense, in any parallel universe that Alex Sciberras is contesting on behalf of Joseph Muscat’s faction? It doesn’t.

Indeed, Norma Saliba is Robert Abela’s favourite, but that doesn’t mean that Alex Sciberras is contesting on behalf of Joseph Muscat. There are more factions in Labour other than Robert Abela’s and Joseph Muscat’s.

Alex Sciberras broke off relations with Joseph Muscat years ago. After leaving Castille, he went to work as a self-employed and eventually joined Chris Fearnes’ team. If anything, Alex Sciberras is contesting for the post on behalf of Chris Fearne’s rebel-team.

Joseph Muscat is currently spreading disinformation and smear campaigns against his enemies in Labour. He is feeding this disinformation to unlikely sources which are very legitimate. People have to be very cautious.

    What you say about Alex Sciberras today may very well be true, but you are not refuting anything said in The Shift’s article about him being on the gravy train since 2013, and one could not have been on that train if not thanks to Joseph Muscat.

    It is pathetic how many of Malta’s supposedly bright young minds are totally dependent on grifting from the public purse to earn a living (or to make the kind of money they think they deserve). There is neither dedication to a vocation irrespective of income nor intelligent use of capital to grow one’s business. Instead, it is finding ever more ways to invoice the public purse for ever bigger sums while not providing anything useful in return.

    Mark, one of the best things that probably ever happened to you was getting dismissed from public positions. Now you can imaginatively spread your wings (through painful and very hard work, of course) in a way which the government would never let you do, and prove your worth as a private individual with ideas. I doubt these grifters (everyone from Alex Sciberras to i?-?aqnu) would survive without government sponsorship. No doubt they think of themselves as great entrepreneurs, though.
