Ethiopia and China are having a military affair

Chinese and African media sites are reporting that Ethiopian military officials have signed military agreements with China to increase military cooperation between each other. The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, a Chinese international security and military conference.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also hosted an international forum with African nations. Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Aby Ahmed also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier this month. China is set to increase its military equipment sales to Ethiopia. Trade agreements were also signed.

Ethiopia is currently up in arms against Somalia for hosting Egyptian officers that are supporting and abetting the separatists rebellions in north Ethiopia. The conflict revolves around Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam.
