Elton Anthony Borg, currently charged with assaulting two police members along with his family members and members, was handed out a lifetime ban by the Court in football for match-fixing in 2014. However, he was still involved with Ħamrun Spartans FC so much so that he is seen here in a photo with Joseph Portelli saying “Thank you to those who showed trust in us”: a message directed at the supporters of Ħamrun Spartans FC, implying that Elton Borg worked in some way or another in favour of Ħamrun Spartans.
Joseph Portelli, the owner and President of the club seems to approve.
Elton Borg is involved in the catering business, and his friend, also charged with assaulting the two police officers is also running the Ħamruns Spartans Youths’ bar.
