The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon is still operating despite clashes next to Camp Shamrock and a request by Israel to the United Nations to evacuate the camp. The IDF is now at Maroun al-Ras trying to take control the territory around Camp Shamrock from Hezbollah. The UN peacekeepers are continuing their work by protecting medical and civilian convoys and repairing civilian infrastructure.
Yesterday, the IDF conducted up to 40 airstrikes in the south of Lebanon.
We were previously hesitant to cover the story about the small contingent of Armed Forces of Malta members at Camp Shamrock due to safety concerns for the Maltese personnel. However, since their story has now been reported by various outlets, we would like to commend the bravery and efforts of the Maltese soldiers and wish for their safety.
