Apparently, the Minister for Education has always been a bully

I had almost forgotten this episode but my readers gave me a timely reminder of this video by the The Malta Independent in December 2019. You can see Clifton Grima, today the Minister for Education, threatening and waving his finger at Opposition and Nationalist Party MP Karol Aquilina outside the Parliament building during the national protests and at the time, this episode faded into the back of my mind due to more pressing matters.

Today, this clip makes perfect sense, as it is an accurate and true testament to his character and someone who tries to muzzle teachers and punishes them for taking industrial action.

    You would think that after those protests Malta today would be on the road to recovery, the Labour party as we know it is no more, a government is in place with civil society scrutiny keeping action (and inaction) in check. Yet here we are, a complete mess and shambles. People now accept spending 30 minutes in traffic for a trip that should last 5 to 10 minutes. And that’s just one example. People have learnt to expect and accept mediocrity.

    Curiouser and curiouser. The Independent has decided to allow the sound but block the video?
    Are our newspapers being controlled by the Mafia?
    Or is this just a glitch?

    “Bully”? Didn’t you mean “total psycho”? The rest of his bunch need urgent help, but they can’t see it, and won’t get it. That’s Labour for you. If people can’t see that these presentable (to others, but certainly not to me) brain-dead idiots are suitable for tax-payable jobs, that’s their problem. I only wish to be within the 50.50% of normal, reasonable, decent, individuals still standing that want a normal government. Quite simple. Not difficult.
