President Myriam Spiteri Debono has departed for London, where she will be meeting with Maltese patients currently receiving medical treatment in the UK, along with their family members. The visit aims to offer support to patients and their loved ones during what is often a challenging time far from home.
During her stay, President Spiteri Debono is scheduled to visit several hospitals in London where Maltese patients are being treated. She will also meet with representatives of Puttinu Cares, a foundation known for its dedicated support to Maltese patients abroad, as well as the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus, who assist the Maltese community in the UK.
This visit marks President Spiteri Debono’s first official engagement in London. As part of her itinerary, she will also stop by the Maltese Embassy to strengthen ties with the Maltese diplomatic community.
President Spiteri Debono is accompanied by her husband, Anthony Spiteri Debono, along with officials from the Office of the President and the Malta Community Chest Fund, including Chairperson Sina Bugeja. The Maltese delegation is expected to return to Malta on Thursday.
While President Spiteri Debono is in London, Francis Zammit Dimech will serve as Acting President in Malta, ensuring continuity in the office’s duties and responsibilities.
