Today, Wednesday, at around 12:30 pm, police were informed by health authorities that a man had been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital earlier after sustaining injuries at a work site located in Sqaq tax-Xagħri l-Imqalleb, in the Imqabba area.
Investigations revealed that the injured man, a 41-year-old Albanian national residing in Siġġiewi, was hurt while carrying out work duties. Colleagues at the site provided initial aid and transported him to the hospital, where he was later certified to have suffered serious injuries and is in a critical condition.
Police and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority have launched investigations, while Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici has opened an inquiry into the incident.
