Clayton Bartolo’s brother is managing a new proposal of a large apartment block in Mellieħa

This is a story in itself, but it is also of public interest, as the architect managing the application for this project is the brother of Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo. Gilbert Bartolo has filed an application with the Planning Authority on behalf of 121 Properties of Roderick Conti to build a new apartment block of up to 30 apartments.

The building is being proposed on a very small strip of land which is yet undeveloped in the middle of an urban area. The area is called “Znuber” and this is probably because of a couple of Znuber trees in it.

There are many areas like this in Malta, and we were told that they would be replanted by Project Green. Instead, they are being targeted for mega-developments.
