In an interview with Newz.mt, PN Secretary-General says The Maltese Herald will get its interview with Graham Bencini (says PN members were busy with the protest)

Yesterday, during the Opposition’s protest against the government in Valletta, Newz.mt questioned the PN’s former Secretary General about the party’s decision to censor the interview with its spokesperson and Shadow Minister for Finances, Graham Bencini. The Nationalist Party revoked permission for its Spokesperson for Public Finances to be interviewed by The Maltese Herald after receiving our submitted questions. In contrast, the Minister of Finance was interviewed by this website without any restrictions.

Newz.mt interviewed Michael Piccinino about the issue. Secretary General Michael Piccinino excused the Party and Graham Bencini by saying that Nationalsit MPs were busy with yesterday’s protest. He also reiterated that the Nationalist Party is always open and available to speak to the press. Michael Piccinino is currently serving in his role on a temporary basis, with the Nationalist Party planning to open an internal race for the post of Secretary-General.

Separately, we have also been informed that permissions for interviews and media appearances by PN MPs are provided by the Party’s Director of Communications, Nathaniel Attard.

Meanwhile, the Nationalist Party has announced that it is in the process of drafting its electoral manifesto as it meets with stakeholders for discussions and consultation meetings.
