Syrian rebels surround Damascus: Israeli intelligence says Bashar al-Assad is still in Damascus

Syrian rebels have surrounded Damascus having captured Darayya, Arbin and Douma. Douma is the city where Bashar al-Assad’s forces fired sarin on the civilian population in 2018. Fireworks were set-off in Arbin celebrating the liberation of the city.

Israeli intelligence source have claimed that Bashar al-Assad is still in Damascus but his presidential guards are nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile, foreign ministers are gathering in Doha, Qatar to discuss the Syrian situation. Foreign Ministers from Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Russia are reported be present.

Qatar’s leader Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was the only Arab leader who refused to participate in Bashar al-Assad’s international rehabilitation.
