Yesterday, the Ukrainian community in Malta organised a protest against the presence of Russia’s Foreign Affairs Minister in Malta at the OSCE 31st Ministerial Conference. The protest took place in Ta’ Qali outside the conference centre where the OSCE conference took place.
The Foundation for the Ukrainian Community of Malta issued a press statement condemning the presence of a Foreign Minister that was responsible for war crimes, child abductions and the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The Ukrainian community called on the global community to continue supporting Ukraine and to resist the normalisation of aggression. The Community also reiterated that Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom but also for the principles that underpin the democratic world.
Civilians in Ukraine are bombed on a daily basis by Russian drones and missiles fired at Ukrainian cities, often targeting civilian targets including medical centres. At least 12,000 civilians have been killed in Ukraine by Russian attacks so far with many more injured. Russian President Vladimir Putin has an international arrest warrant against him for the abduction of Ukrainian children who were forcefully taken away from their Ukrainian parents and now live in Russia.
