This morning, at about 7:45 am, a report was received about a traffic accident in Triq Diċembru Tlettax, Marsa.
Preliminary investigations showed that a 36-year-old Turkish man, residing in Ħaż-Żabbar, lost control of the Toyota Vitz he was driving, and collided with roadside barricades and a streetlight pole.
Emergency medical teams were quick on the scene with first aid before he was taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was subsequently certified to have suffered serious injuries.
Members of the Civil Protection Department also went on site for further assistance.
Police investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.
