President Donald Trump has announced his first set of policies in his inauguration speech earlier today. He started by declaring a national emergency at the southern border and announcing a new law that will classify Mexican drug-cartels as terrorist organisations.
“Millions will be sent back” he said, as he also announced the reinstatement of his “Remain in Mexico” policy and the transfer of troops to the border. He also repeated his claim that he will be changing the name of the “Gulf of Mexico” to “Gulf of America”. Citizenship by birth-right will also end, he announced.
As expected, President Trump remarked that he will increase oil and gas production, saying as usual “Drill baby drill”. He also reiterated that he will introduce tariffs. “Instead of taxing our citizens, we will tax and tariff other countries to enrich our citizens” he said, and added that he will be establishing the External Revenue Service to to institute tariffs from foreign sources. European and Chinese futures dipped with the announcement.
President Trump also said that he will end government censorship, but didn’t explain what he meant by this. He stated that he would end government persecution, which he claimed to have experienced personally. He also said that military personnel who were dismissed for refusing the Covid vaccine will be recalled back with full backpay.
On the Panama Canal, President Trump said that Panama was not treating US fairly given that US ships are being overcharged. He said that “China is operating in the Panama canal and we didn’t give it to China, we have it to Panama and we are taking it back.”
He also said he wants to be a peacemaker and unifier saying he will end wars alluding to the war in Ukraine.
President Trump pledged to plant the stars and stripes on planet Mars.
On race and gender he said that he wants to make a colour blind society based on merit and remove race and gender from public and private life. He added that there are two genders only: male and female.
He concluded by saying, that the fact that he stood there proved that nothing is impossible and doing the impossible is what America does best.
