Din L-Art Helwa has just released a bizarre press release saying that their Executive Director is full of integrity and that my reports about him were “inaccurate”. The University of Malta professor and ex-Dean, Alex Torpiano is involved through his firm in the dismantling and reconstruction of the British barracks in Fort Chambray. There is nothing inaccurate about this. He admitted this to me himself over the phone and the planning application is online. He justified it by saying that the government needs to change the law.
Ironically, Din L-Art Ħelwa’s profile banner on Facebook shows the British barracks that Alex Torpiano’s firm is going to dismantle and reassemble: a project which Din L-Art Ħelwa opposed.
You couldn’t even make this up.
