The Minister of Culture’s favourite Maltese book is a children’s book

Earlier this week, Minister of Culture Owen Bonnici appeared on Jon Mallia’s TV show Il-Kazin where he gave a very inarticulate defense of the massive corrupt expenditure disbursed by the Ministry of Culture. Join Mallia is also a culture professional involved in the music industry and knows the subject well, apart from being born into a family of artists.

The Minister of Culture’s defense from Jon Mallia’s criticism was horrible at best, and I will write some points in an article later on. In order to put some context to the intelligence and depth of the Minister of Culture, when asked what was his favourite Maltese book, he replied by saying that it is Il-Pulena tad-Deheb by Trevor Zahra, which is a children’s book that most Maltese of my generation read before becoming teenagers.

This is a government Minister. He was also Justice Minister.

You couldn’t even make this stuff up.

I thought the book might have been Noddy goes to toyland by Enid Blyton but it seems not?
